A reset for your body & mind

This 30-minute acupuncture session is designed to ease feelings of tension, encourage relaxation and bring a sense of calm — leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to return to your day.

Created for those who want to look after themselves but don’t always have time for a longer appointment.

Whether you’re working from home, locally, or from a nearby co-working space — The Desk Reset fits into your day.

How It Works

Before we begin treatment, I carry out a body and posture assessment to identify which muscles aren’t functioning optimally. This helps us get to the root of the issue—instead of just treating the symptoms.

I use the EXSTORE system, a hands-on method to scan key muscle groups in the upper and lower body to detect motor inhibition (where a muscle isn’t firing properly).

Once we identify the issue, I use techniques such as electroacupuncture or manual soft tissue release to restore function, followed by targeted treatment of the specific area of pain.

This structured approach avoids guesswork and focuses on what your body actually needs, often reducing pain more quickly and effectively.

A modern approach to acupuncture

Your session brings together different styles of acupuncture, allowing your treatment to be tailored to you.

Medical Acupuncture

Dry Needling Techniques

Traditional Acupuncture Principles

FAQs

Do I need to allow extra time?

Your appointment is 30 minutes, making it easy to schedule around your working day.

Do I need to change clothes?

Comfortable clothing is recommended, but the session has been designed with busy professionals in mind. If you need to remove your top to treat the upper back, I will provide you with towels to make you feel at ease.

Is this only for office workers?

No. It may suit anyone who spends long periods sitting, using screens or feeling the effects of a busy lifestyle.

Is acupuncture painful?

Most people find acupuncture very relaxing. You may feel a slight warmth or tingling as the needles go in. Certain points might feel sensitive, but it shouldn’t be painful. If we are treating trigger points, these can be tender, but trigger point acupuncture is optional, and I will discuss this with you. That said, the temporary tenderness after trigger-point acupuncture is worth it. I always feel like I am no longer carrying a brick on my neck once I release my upper traps!

Is this different from your usual acupuncture sessions?

Yes. The Desk Reset is a focused 30-minute appointment.

My standard acupuncture appointments allow more time for a detailed consultation and broader health support.

Can I use health insurance for acupuncture?

As a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (mBAcC), my treatments are recognised by many health insurers. Check with your provider first, and see my Health Insurance page → for more info. However, as this is an express treatment, I would ask you to pay for the treatment on the day, and you can get it reimbursed by your insurer with your invoice.
